NO DISTRICT FIVE CANDIDATES PARTICIPATING IN FORUM

Below are the questions that make up Part Two of the Forum, selected by our volunteers from those submitted by local leaders, citizens and Cleaver readers.    They were emailed to the candidates who participated in Part One of the Forum  on June 19th.  Candidates who wish to participate in Part Two have until 11:30pm, Monday, July 13th to respond.  Responses will be posted here before August 1st.


1.  What is your specific plan for this district?

2.   What are your qualifications to carry out your goals?

3.  What is your current employment and how much time can you devote to this office?

4.   Is there a long-range county strategic plan in effect now, and if so, what is your opinion of it?  

5.  What can the Board of Supervisors do to increase transparency?

6.  Do you think the communications between the local governing bodies (BSL, Waveland,  Diamondhead and Hancock County) can be improved, and if so, how?

7.  How would you improve Hancock County's website?

8.  How would you fund raises for county employees?  Should the raises be performance based?

9.  The Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau used to receive significant annual funding in the county budget. For the past two years, it has received no funding from the county.  What are your thoughts on this issue?

10.  What do you see as Hancock County's biggest hurdles in attracting new businesses? What is your plan to overcome these hurdles?
